Kaicer's Open Doors event delves into design
Last month, Kaicer joined 290 sites to participate in Open Doors 2019. During one week in March, nearly 6,000 bookings were made to go behind the scenes of live construction sites, offices, factories, and training centres across Great Britain.
Each year, Open Doors offers a unique opportunity to be inspired by our growing industry and learn how to begin a career in construction. Our visitors were invited into our world of innovative building envelope designs. Kaicer’s design experts demonstrated how state of the art 3D technology is being used to create some of the UK’s most iconic building facades. And our participants were given plenty of opportunities to get hands-on with our design programmes of choice. During the Open Doors session Kaicer designs were brought to life; from the architect’s conceptual designs through to their practical reality, our team revealed how we apply the essential finishing touches to major construction projects.
As recent members of Build UK, this was Kaicer’s first time taking part in the nationwide event. Working in partnership with CITB, Open Doors is delivered by Build UK and targeted at young people and individuals looking for a career change. It offers an exclusive opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of a range of live construction sites, offices or training locations. With construction facing a severe skills shortage and over 179,000 construction jobs to be created across the UK by 2021, Open Doors is an excellent way of inspiring people to choose a career in the sector and take the next steps to progress into the industry.
Kaicer is one of the only sub-contractors to be a member of Build UK and as such, this gave us a unique opportunity to promote another important specialism within our sector. We’re now looking forward to Open Doors 2020!
